Frequently Asked Questions
The sugar in our Mug Muffin Meals comes from whole dates ground into powder. So, all of the fiber is intact. Eating 2-3 Medjool dates is equal to 30g of sugar. So eating 1 Mug Muffin Meal is equivalent to eating a few dates, plus you're getting even more fiber from other ingredients like chickpeas and flax to offset the sugar impact even more.
Coconut and chocolate contain saturated fats. There is a very small amount of saturated fat in flax and nuts.
Mug Muffin Meals have essential complex carbohydrates from whole plant foods, like dates, fruits, nuts, and chickpeas. Carbs are the body's first choice for energy. Complex carbs pack in more nutrients than simple carbs. They’re higher in fiber and digest more slowly, which is good news for people with high blood sugar. This also makes them more filling, which means they’re a good option for weight control. Many people are unaware of the carbs in whole plant foods; for example, a bowl of plain oatmeal with blueberries has about the same carbs as a Mug Muffin Meal.
Absolutely!
Yes, instructions to bake them in the oven are on the back of each package
Other higher-protein muffin mixes use isolated whey or plant-based protein. Our bodies recognize and absorb nutrients from whole foods more efficiently than isolated powders. We want to provide bodies with nutrients as nature intended.
It is a powerhouse wonder food! Most people know legumes are high in fiber and healthy protein, but few know their anti-cancer, anti-diabetes, and weight-loss benefits. Specific good bacteria break down legumes into cancer-defensive fatty acids such as butyrate. Butyrate protects against colon cancer in many different ways.
We formulated a sodium-free baking powder for those choosing to avoid added sodium.
Monocalcium Phosphate is used in baking powder to cause a rise; there must be acidic, alkaline, and elastic components to create the rise. It is the acidic component. Monocalcium phosphate is also a dietary supplement that increases calcium levels in the body.
Potassium Bicarbonate is an alkaline buffering agent. It is used in antacids, helps with muscle cramping, irregular heartbeat, and low energy.
Xantham Gum is the elastic component of our baking powder. It is a soluble fiber that your body cannot digest. It has been shown to feed the good bacteria in the gut.
They are very filling because they are high in fiber and nutrients. We have an appestat in our brains that controls our hunger drive. For the appestat to turn off our hunger drive, specific fiber receptors in our stomach and nutrient receptors in our small intestine must be satisfied before the appestat turns off our hunger drive. Processed foods are deficient in fiber, essential vitamins, minerals, and plant nutrients; therefore, the receptors do not send the message to the appestat to turn off our hunger drive, so we just keep eating and gaining weight.
We prioritized making our Mug Muffin Meals delicious and whole food, plant-based. This required us to use premium ingredients. Real, unprocessed, or minimally processed food ingredients are more expensive than processed ingredients.
This is a whole-food product therefore, no two mixes are exactly identical. The fluid measurements we provide may be less or more. When mixed, the wet mixture should be like a thick pudding. If it is runny, it is too thin, and you must add more mix.
Add-ins can enhance your taste and nutrition experience. Some add-ins we think are delicious are:
Fresh or frozen berries
Chopped fruit
Nuts

About Nature’s Path
The seed for Nature’s Path was planted way back in the 1930s when Arran Stephens was growing up on his family’s second-generation organic berry farm. Arran’s father taught him how to care for and nurture the soil, telling him to “always leave the earth better than you found it”. These words have been woven into the very fabric of Nature’s Path.
